heifers at 9AM, bulls following heifers in respected breeds, American
Commercial Heifers, ALL Scramble Heifers and Showmanship. Release:

1. ENTRY DEADLINE: Junior
cattle entries will close August 31, 2007.
Summary Sheets and payment must be postmarked by August 31, 2007.
(US Postmark - NOT postage meter stamp).

Junior Beef Cattle Entries In
all cases, the management reserves the right to accept or reject an application
for entry and does not guarantee stall space.
Stall space is on a first received basis.
All entries must be made online as a group through Ag. Science teacher,
or County Agent. If you desire
to be stalled with or next to a particular 4H or FFA Chapter please indicate
this on summary sheet, and we will try and accommodate your request, stall
assignment WILL BE MADE OFF OF SUMMARY SHEET!! RULE
2.
ELIGIBILITY: Exhibitors must
be a bonafide member of a county 4-H club or FFA chapter.
4-H entrants must be actively enrolled in a 4-H program and be between
3rd grade or 9 years old and not older than 19 as of 9-1-07.
FFA members must be actively enrolled in a FFA chapter. RULE
3.
ENTRY FEES: An entry fee of
$25 per head must accompany each current entry form ($2 goes to the scholarship
fund - applications are available in the fair office).
Late entries will NOT be accepted.
Substitutions will be accepted at $10 fee per head through check-in.
Summary Sheets and payment postmarked after August 31, 2007 will not
be accepted. ENTRY FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE.
TIE OUTS are available for $5 a space, however all cattle must remain
inside the barn from 8AM until 8PM. GENERATORS ARE ALLOWED OUTSIDE THE BARN
ONLY!! RULE
4. SCRAMBLE CALVES: All
calf scramble animals will be identified by a sign provided by the Four States
Fair in the barn and are subject to the same entry procedures and fees.
Calf scramble animals will be entered in the calf scramble section as
well as their respective breed section (only 1 entry fee).
Indicate on entry form that animal is a Four States Fair Scramble
winner. Scramble heifers that
cannot be shown by exhibitor will forfeit clubs/chapters opportunity to
participate in scramble, and money must be refunded to the Four States Fair
Association. RULE
5.
Entry forms Entries
must be made as a group and must be completed ONLINE at www.fourstatesfair.com
Entry fees must be mailed in by Aug.31, 2007 one summary sheet should accompany
entry fees. All summary
sheets must be signed by the County Agent or Ag. Science teacher
and include complete mailing address and phone number for 4-H or FFA club.
IN ORDER FOR ENTRIES TO BE COMPLETE, TWO (2) THINGS SHOULD BE INCLUDED -
1. CHECK OR MONEY ORDER, 2. ONE SUMMARY SHEET FROM ONLINE ENTRIES FOR GROUP.

6. PASSES: Each Exhibitor will be given a pass.
Each pass will allow 1 person through the RULE
7.
OWNERSHIP OF ANIMALS: To
be eligible for competition, animals must be the bonafide property of the
exhibitor. All animals entered for
competition in the breeding classes must be entered in the name of the owner
and must have been owned by the exhibitor not less than thirty days prior to
the opening day of the fair. A copy
of registration certificates of ownership must be mailed with summary sheet.
Heifers without registration papers will show in the commercial class.
The exhibitor must complete all information otherwise entry will not
be accepted. F-1 is eligible to
compete in commercial class. Commercial
heifers should indicate on entry what breed or cross for classification
purposes. Commercial heifers will
be classified by weight at time of check in. RULE
8. SHOWMANSHIP:
ENTRIES WILL BE MADE ON THE DAY YOUR RESPECTED BREED SHOWS.

9.
ARRIVAL & RELEASE: All
entries in the Junior Livestock Division must be in place in the barn by 6PM.
Thursday, September 13th unless otherwise approved by the Livestock
Director. REGISTRATION
PAPERS WILL BE VERIFIED AT CHECK-IN!
Animals will be released 8:30 PM Saturday, September 15h.
Any other times must be approved by the Livestock Director.
Anyone leaving before this time will forfeit all premiums.
Animals not checked-in by 6 PM -
September 13th will be scratched.
Animals that will be exhibiting in the Open Livestock Show can remain in
place in the barn. RULE
10.
Exhibitor must be able to have full control of animal or risk
disqualification. All bulls
1 year & older must be shown with a nose ring or clip with a lead
rope. RULE
11.
All animals will be required to have a current health certificate issued
by license veterinarian that conforms to the requirements of Arkansas Animal
Health Commission - see General Rules and Regulations.
All females 20 months & older must be accompanied by a certificate
of pregnancy from a licensed veterinarian, have produced fertile eggs, as
certified in a written statement by a licensed veterinarian or embryologist, or
have a calf at her side. RULE
12.
Any violation of these rules will cost a forfeiture of all premiums
earned by the exhibitor. In the
interest of improving the Junior Show, the Four States Fair requests that the
County Agents, Ag. Science teachers certify
as to the eligibility of both the exhibitor and the animal entered by the
exhibitor in the Four States Fair Junior Show.
RULE
13.
ALL PROTESTS SHALL BE MADE TO
THE LIVESTOCK DIRECTOR IN WRITING IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CONCLUSION OF
JUDGING. SUCH PROTESTS MUST STATE
PLAINLY THE CAUSE OF COMPLAINT AND ACCOMPANIED BY $100 DEPOSIT.
JUDGING PROCEDURES WILL NOT BE INTERRUPTED FOR PROTEST INVESTIGATION.
DECISIONS OF THE LIVESTOCK DIRECTOR ARE FINAL, PENDING A COMPLETE
INVESTIGATION. RULE
14.
In all breeds there must be 5 or more of the same sex to constitute a
breed. When less than 5 of the same
sex are entered, they will show in other breeds.
When 5 or more of the same sex of a breed not listed below are entered,
that breed section will be added. If
there are fewer than 3 animals competing for champion and reserve champion,
only champion plaque will be awarded. RULE
15. There will be no grooming
chutes, trimming stalls, electrical clippers or other such devices allowed on
the show grounds during the Junior Show. The
show grounds consist of the entire area encircled in the fence of the Four
States Fairgrounds. Scissors and
cordless clippers may be used. Grooming
Products will be allowed with the exception of any adhesive products, or any
artificial coloring products (paint, dye, etc.) No custom fitters/fitting will
be allowed unless they are assisting immediate family members. RULE

Simmental AOB
Heifers & Bulls will be broken down by breed type.
Commercial Heifers will be broken into three divisions:
American, English, and Exotics.
COMMERCIAL CLASSES WILL BE BROKEN DOWN BY WEIGHT.
Commercial Steers will be broken down into Light, Med., Heavy Weight. Be
sure to indicate breed type. (Am/Am X, British/British X, Exotic/ Exotic X) RULE
17.
Shavings will be available for a fee.
Stall area MUST be cleaned before release.
All hay and manure must be disposed of in the dumpsters at rear of barn.
PLEASE PLACE YOUR WASTE PRODUCTS TO THE FRONT OF THE DUMPSTER.
NO SMOKING IN LIVESTOCK BARN BY ORDER OF THE TEXARKANA FIRE MARSHALL. RULE

05 - Late Summer Yearling heifers born between July 1 and August 31, 2006 CLASS
06 - Early Summer Yearling heifers born between May 1 and June 30, 2006 CLASS
07 - Late Junior Yearling heifers born between March 1 and April 30, 2006 CLASS
08 - Early Junior Yearling heifers born between January 1 and February 28, 2006 CLASS
09 Sr. Yearling heifers born between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, 2005

age is 8-31-07 Each showmanship division winner will receive a buckle.

The exhibitor must show an animal entered and exhibited by them during
the Junior Breed Show. RULE
19. HERDSMAN AWARD: The
Four States Fair Association will present a trophy to the 4-H Club or FFA
Chapter that has displayed good herdsman conduct at the Junior Livestock show.
Judging will be based on general appearance and neatness of stalls and
cattle as well as the exhibitor's cooperation with Fair officials and the
general public. Judging will begin
at Thursday afternoon, September 13TH
and continue through 6PM, Saturday, September 15th.

To be eligible for Herdsman Award cattle must be in place from 8AM 8PM
during the competition -
Mark entries for Herdsman Award -
Notify Livestock Committee/Director upon arrival that your club/chapter would
like to participate. Score
card will be used to determine the winner of the Herdsman Award. (all
conditions will be taken into consideration and weighed accordingly) Awards
